Megalo Recruit is seeking a reliable and hardworking Domestic Assistant in Waterlooville to join a brand-new SEN school opening in September 2026. The successful Domestic Assistant will work as part of a cleaning and facilities team to ensure the school remains safe, clean, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Domestic Assistant Responsibilities
As a Domestic Assistant, your duties will include:
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety throughout the school
- Following cleaning schedules and routines set by the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Using cleaning chemicals and materials safely and correctly
- Ensuring all cleaning equipment is maintained and stored properly
- Keeping cleaning cupboards clean, organised, and secure
- Reporting any maintenance issues, damages, or defects to management
- Supporting other departments when required during staff absence or holidays
- Attending training sessions and staff meetings when needed
- Wearing the correct uniform and presenting a professional appearance at all times
- Reporting any pupil altercations immediately to a teacher or senior staff member
What We Are Looking For
The ideal Domestic Assistant will be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Friendly, professional, and approachable
- Experienced in cleaning or housekeeping roles (preferred but not essential)
- Comfortable working within a school environment
- Flexible and willing to support other departments when required
