Join The Megalo Team as a Flexible Nanny Agency Worker – Up to £18.00ph depending on number of years sole charge experience

Megalo Recruit is recruiting early years qualified and/or experienced nannies to join their agency childcare team to cover locations across the Home Counties. Be part of our successful well established agency, committed to providing a nurturing and educational environment for children. Working on a flexible zero hour contract you will be working for clients with emergency daily bookings. Earnings vary up to £18ph per hour and we require you to be available at least 2 days per week. Days and times can vary subject to requirements.

Job Specification for Nanny Agency Worker:

• Must be UK Resident
• A current children’s workforce DBS on the update service (we can process one for you if not)
• A current Paediatric First Aid certificate
• Min L2 Safeguarding Training (we can offer this free of charge if needed)
• Minimum 2 full years sole charge nanny experience proven through references. Childcare experience is essential, but qualifications are not.

Nanny Agency Worker Role Responsibilities:

• feed, bath and dress children, and change babies’ nappies
• teach basic social skills and hygiene
• provide a safe setting for children
• help children to learn through play
• take children on outings to widen their experiences (subject to request)
• do nursery and school runs (subject to request)
• organise play opportunities to help children mix with others (subject to request)
• prepare healthy meals and snacks/dispensing medication (medication subject to request)
• tidy up and clean rooms used by the children
• keep records for the family

Personal Specification:

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum 2 years sole charge nanny experience
• Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Be flexible and open to change
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Active listening skills
• Ability to understand people’s reactions
• Thinking and reasoning skills
• Able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
• Experience working with early years age group up to c. 11 years
• Interactive – Being playful, smiling and chatting with the children
• Patience – Give the children time to get to know you and to have a go at practicing their knowledge and skills
• Empathy – Think about how the children are feeling in different situations
• Initiative – Engage with the children and help keep the home tidy
